Stamp til you Cramp! 2010


The Crazy Stamping Ladies were at it again. On Saturday, October 9th we held our annual Stamp til you Cramp! event at the Boys and Girls Club located at Los Cerritos Middle School in Thousand Oaks. Each attendee made four beautiful projects, as well as, two mini projects that incorporated a new product or technique. This event took month's of planning, prep and more planning. But the day was a huge success; because what could be better than spending the day stamping with friends. My project is shown above and focused on the Woodland Park Designer Series Paper included in the 2010 - 2011 Idea Book & Catalog. At this month's Advanced Card class we made these two fall themed cards. The first used Day of Gratitude stamp set with Daffodil Delight, Peach Parfait and Cajun Craze. The medallion was embossed with black embossing powder we then used sponge daubers to add the ink beginning in the center and working our way out. We cut the medallion out and finished it off with an antique brad. The black satin ribbon was scrunched on to sticky strip. We finished the card off by punching the saying out with our new Decorative Label punch which was embellished with designer jewels. The medallion and saying were popped up on stampin dimensionals.

The second card was created with the French Foliage stamp set using the batik technique. The colors I chose were More Mustard, Always Artichoke, Riding Hood Red and Crumb Cake. We clear embossed the leaves, shading over the entire surface of the very vanilla cardstock with ink. When finished we iron the cardstock between newsprint, recycled from purchases at Michaels, removing the embossing. We finished the card off with satin Early Espresso ribbon and the mini vintage tags.

At convention this year we were able to purchase these adorable reusable shopping bags at Memento Mall. I held a class were we decorated the bag and created a coordinating note pad, pen and envelope. We used the circle die to cut various sizes of coordinating felt which we layered on the flowers. We finished off the felt embellishments with a corduroy button and finally hung a chipboard initial on the bag. For the note pad we created a cover for the note pad using Stampin' Up!'s play date folders and a tutorial found on Patty Bennett's blog. Finally we decorated a coordinating gusseted envelope using the awesome Owl punch. I think the set turned out really cute.

This bouquet of flowers is what I made for our "Fall" themed raffle basket for the upcoming Stamp til you Cramp! event being held October 9th. I used the Daisies #2 die cut, the Leaves #2 die cut and the Two-Step Bird punch to create the flowers and leaves. The colors of the flowers are More Mustard, Poppy Parade and Early Espresso. I filled a mason jar with black beans and topped it off with a big bow made from Old Olive Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.

For our annual Stamp til you Cramp! event that is being held in Thousand Oaks on October 9th the Crazy Stamping Ladies put together raffle baskets. Each attendee is given one raffle ticket, extra tickets are given for those that bring cards for the charity we spotlight at the event and, of course, additional tickets are available for purchase. Each raffle basket has a theme and each demonstrator that participates in the event contributes something handmade for the basket. This is my project that will be in the Vintage basket. I decorated the paper mache container with Deck the Halls designer series paper from Stampin' Up!'s new Mini Holiday catalog, our Big Designer Buttons and the Victoria Crochet Trim. I topped it off with a ceramic knob purchased at a local hardware store.

Each month my club meets to make one card and one 3-D item. I try to incorporate new techniques in the projects. This month we used the new Spider Web Textured Embossing Folder which we highlighted with Frost White Shimmer Paint. It made the web look really cool. The stamp set we used to create the card was Dark & Dreary. We used the Wicked Fun Specialty designer series paper and Rich Razzleberry Striped Grosgrain Ribbon which we cut in half. I love the effect of the threads on the ribbon; it really goes with the spooky idea of the Halloween card.

For our 3-D Item we decorated an empty Starbucks Frappucino bottle using the stamp set Wicked Cool. We used the 2 3/8" scallop circle punch to create the flower in the center that became the witches tummy. Again we used the Wicked Fun Specialty designer series paper. We highlighted the belly flower with the word "Spooky" and used the words "have a wicked cool Halloween" stamp on the top of the bottle, filled we candy and we were done.

Stampin' Up! has a wonderful house in the current mini catalog that can be decorated in a variety of ways. On Saturday, October 2nd I will hosting a workshop in my home in Thousand Oaks to create a "Haunted House".
